BARCAMP KERALA X 2017
Let’s meet, speak and learn!
BarCamp is an ad-hoc unconference born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from attendees. Anyone with something to contribute or with the desire to learn is welcome and invited to join. There are no registration fees or any charges for a Barcamp as this is a user-generated conference. You are invited to volunteer for various activities for putting up a successful camp. BarCamp Kerala x 2017 is being conducted at Trinity Engineering College, Trivandrum with a limited audience and well-crafted sessions.
When & Where?
Barcamp Kerala X 2017 is slated to commence at 9:00 am on the 1st day of the 10th month in the year 2017 AD ( 1st October 2017 ) @ Trinity College of Engineering, Trivandrum. So make sure your calendars are cleared for the day.
Do I have to give a talk?
Absolutely not! Many people come to BarCamp just to meet new people and listen to other folks give cool presentations, and that’s great! We encourage people to participate however they are most comfortable. That’s the beauty of the “unconference.” You can pretty much do whatever you want.
What all do I need to bring?
There’s no need to bring anything special to BarCamp Kerala, but if you are looking for things to stuff into your fanny pack, here are our suggestions:
- Your notebook and a pen for taking notes and collecting autographs.
- Something to share with all of your new friends…a business card perhaps?
- Smartphones, Tablets, Wearables, laptops, what else do you have?
- A friend…if your friend fits in your fanny pack.
How long are the sessions/talks?
Each time slot is 30 minutes. Speakers are allowed to use that time however they wish. You could even share one 30-minute time slot with multiple people or set up a panel discussion. It’s probably a good idea to allow time for comments and questions because BarCamp audiences tend to be very participatory!
Can I give a sales presentation?
No. To be respectful of our BarCamp attendees, sales presentations or all-out sales pitches are not allowed. Don’t even try it, folks.
